Communist Party of Swaziland stands in solidarity with the people of Lebanon following the explosion in Beirut

The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) stands in solidarity with the people of Lebanon following the explosion which rocked Beirut on Tuesday 4 August 2020. Around 150 people have been killed, over 5,000 wounded and thousands more negatively affected one way or the other as a result of the explosion, according to Lebanese government officials.

The CPS sends heartfelt condolences to the families of those who were killed and wishes speedy recovery for the injured.

The CPS supports all solidarity efforts towards the rebuilding of the city and the restoration of people’s lives. The Party also supports calls for thorough investigation into the causes of the explosion.

The CPS, however, stands against all acts of imperialist aggression against the country. This disaster should not be used as an excuse to implement imperialist and neo-colonial policies in that country. The working class across the world must unite in defending national sovereignty, against imperialism.
