The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) issues this statement to formally condemn the ostentatious display of expensive gifts during a wedding event in Ka Tembé, Mozambique, involving the daughter of King Mswati III and a prominent Mozambican family on the weekend of 26/27 July 2025.
The CPS asserts that these gifts, allegedly procured using misappropriated taxpayer funds, represent a grave misuse of public resources and underscore systemic corruption within the Mswati regime and must be recovered as part of the assets recovery plan of the transitional government of the new dispensation.
The CPS further calls for the intensified isolation of the alliance between the Taiwan administration and the absolute monarchy of Mswati III. This alliance, deemed unholy and detrimental, must not be facilitated through Mozambique as a conduit. The CPS believes that the longevity of this alliance is nearing its end, and its dissolution is imperative for the betterment of regional relations. How do you justify the flashing of expensive utensils to all Mozambican former heads of states and present President, asks the CPS?
King Mswati III and his Tinkhundla regime face increasing economic isolation, a consequence of their diplomatic missteps, particularly their alignment with Taiwan, a reckless interference with China internal affairs. The CPS contends that Mswati’s desperation for allies is a direct result of his poor strategic choices, and he must bear responsibility for the consequences of these decisions. He will always misfire as long as he is still obsessed with fighting against democracy to protect his absolute power.
The CPS also highlights the exploitation of diplomatic relations through the use of his (Mswati) children as instruments of diplomacy. Previously, his daughters were paraded in the Middle East, and now she is being used to forge ties with a Mozambican family to decide the regional position on one China policy. He sees Mozambique as a weakest link to escape economic isolation.
These actions have imposed significant financial burdens on the Swazi people, as Mswati distributed lavish gifts to influential political figures in Mozambique, the presidency (former and current presidents). These gifts, sourced from Swaziland’s taxpayer funds without proper declaration, epitomize corruption and lack of transparency. Mswati’s family steals from the coffers of the state for their lavish lifestyle.
In conclusion, the CPS urges accountability and transparency in the use of public resources and calls for the cessation of corrupt practices within the Mswati regime. The CPS reaffirms its commitment to advocating for the intensification of the struggle for democracy in Swaziland as the urgent solution in the face of grave consequences of today and in the future as desperate Mswati hopes to wave for survival in a drowning boat.
Mozambique is not an option to survive a decaying absolute monarchy. It is a country that has had enough of bruises of setbacks and can not afford to be pushed back by an alliance of despots, says the CPS.
