In a statement on the new Israeli attack on Beirut and the assassination of the political leader of Hamas, the Press Office of the CC of the KKE stresses the following:

"The KKE denounces the new murderous attack by Israel on Beirut which, combined with the assassination of the leader of Hamas in Tehran, leads to unpredictable escalation of the war and a general conflagration in the Middle East.

The well-known pretexts used by the occupying state of Israel, with the backing of the USA - NATO - EU, cannot concealneither the repeated and ongoing aggressive actions against Lebanon, the long-standing occupation of territories in Lebanon and Syria, in the Golan Heights, nor the genocide committed against the people of Palestine with more than 40.000 people dead.

The New Democracy government, which has become a key mouthpiece of Israeli propaganda and is strengthening its multiform cooperation with this terrorist state, bears enormous responsibilityfor turning our country into a perpetrator against other peoples.

The struggle against the Israeli crimes, against the involvement and complicity of the Greek government in these crimes, must be immediately intensified; people’s solidarity must be expressed with the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon, with every people who are confronted with such imperialist crimes."

فليتعزَّز الآن النضال ضد الجرائم الإسرائيلية و ضد مشاركة وتواطؤ الحكومة اليونانية

أفاد بيان للمكتب اﻹعلامي للجنة المركزية للحزب الشيوعي اليوناني بشأن العدوان الإسرائيلي الجديد على بيروت واغتيال القائد السياسي لحركة حماس، بما يلي:

«يستنكرُ الحزب الشيوعي اليوناني العدوان القاتل الجديد الذي شنته إسرائيل على بيروت، والذي يقود بالترابط مع اغتيال قائد حماس في طهران، إلى تصعيد للحرب غير ممكن التنبؤ بعواقبه و إلى اندلاع أشمل في الشرق الأوسط.

و بغير إمكان الذرائع المعروفة التي تستخدمها دولة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بدعم من الولايات المتحدة وحلف شمال الأطلسي والاتحاد الأوروبي، أن تخفي الأعمال العدوانية المتكررة والمستمرة ضد لبنان، والاحتلال طويل الأمد لأراضي لبنان وسوريا و في مرتفعات الجولان، وبالطبع الإبادة الجماعية المُرتكَبَةَ ضد شعب فلسطين والتي تجاوز عدد ضحاياها اﻠ 40 ألف.

إن حكومة حزب الجمهورية الجديدة، التي تطورت لتصبح "جهاز بثٍّ" رئيسي للدعاية الإسرائيلية و التي تعزز تعاونها المتعدد الأوجه مع الدولة الإرهابية، تتحمل مسؤوليات هائلة تِجاهَ تحويل بلدنا إلى مُرتَكِبٍ بحق الشعوب الأخرى.

إن الحاجةَ الآن هي لتعزيز النضال ضد الجرائم الإسرائيلية و ضد مشاركة وتواطؤ الحكومة اليونانية فيها، و للإعراب عن التضامن الشعبي تِجاهَ شعبي فلسطين ولبنان، ولكن أيضاً مع كل شعبٍ يواجه هذه الجرائم الإمبريالية».
