CP of India, CPI Condoles Demise of Com. Vishwanath Shastri Ex-MP

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on March 18, 2019:

The National Secretariat of Communist Party of India expresses its deep sorrow and conveys its condolences at the death of veteran Communist leader Com. Vishwanath Shastri this morning at Lucknow. He was born in 1945 at Asown, Ghazipur District, Uttar Pradesh. He breathed his last at 6:00 a.m. today at a hospital in Lucknow.

He was a secretary of the Uttar Pradesh State Council of CPI. He was also member of Parliament in the 10th Lok Sabha from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh in 1991. He joined active political life as a student leader of AISF.

His death is a big loss to the Communist movement and CPI.

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India conveys its condolences to the family members of the departed leader, his colleagues, friends and all comrades.

CPI expresses its deep felt condolences at the death of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who passed away in the evening of March 17, 2019 after a long battle against cancer. Parrikar had been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, Delhi, and New York since February last year after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The Party conveys its condolences to the bereaved members of the family.
