MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE ON THE DEMISE OF M. KARUNANIDHI

 

The National Council of the Communist Party of India expresses its heartfelt condolences on the death of M. Karunanidhi, former Chief Minister and Chief of the DMK of Tamil Nadu.

M. Karunanidhi will always be remembered by the people of India as an exemplary leader. He became a legend in his lifetime in Indian politics as five times Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, famous screenplay writer and poet who always stood for democracy, peace, and for social justice. He played important role for Dravidian self respect movement to realise its goals. He made tremendous contribution in the development of Tamil Nadu.

He fondly called as Kalaignar.

CPI believes his death is a great loss not only for the people of Tamil Nadu but also to the people of India particularly when our country passing through a very difficult period.

The CPI extends its condolences to the family members of M. Karunanidhi and entire member and sympathers of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Party.
