Who is Henry Parra? The PSUV operator who requested the legal intervention of the PCV.

Caracas, 07-14-2023 (Neirlay Andrade) - Last Monday, July 10, through a spectacular media display, from the outskirts of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), the country witnessed how a handful of apparently unknown faces declared themselves as the "bases" of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) and demanded its legal intervention. 

Before the cameras of this program organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information appeared a man who claimed to be a communist militant for 50 years and described the leadership of the PCV as "illegitimate" and "illegal". His name is Henry Parra and for some months he has been accompanying the Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, in government rallies. 

This is not the first time that Parra closes ranks with members of the PSUV leadership. Back in 2021 he publicly announced his resignation from the PCV to support the candidacy of Freddy Bernal for the governorship of the state of Táchira. 

At that time he claimed to be a "lifelong member" as he did last July 10 outside the TSJ. And as if it were a trite script, at that time he also ignored the political line of the PCV, built collectively in the XV National Conference. 

After that, he was confined to a bureaucratic position in the region until his reappearance in April this year, when he announced his intention to "rescue" the PCV. Since then, Parra joined the assault plan together with other political operators of Diosdado Cabello who toured the country offering money and positions to communist militants so that they would join his adventure. Their failure was resounding; the internal unity of the PCV prevailed and they were forced to organize a fake congress with active PSUV members to make public opinion believe that the so-called "bases" of the PCV were in disagreement with their leadership and the line drawn by the XVI National Congress. 

But, what did this congress agree on to unleash this anti-democratic onslaught in which Parra has an active role? Well, the conclave of Venezuelan communists resolved in November last year to break definitively with the anti-working class and anti-popular policies of President Nicolás Maduro. 

The leadership of the PSUV expected that the XVI National Congress would provoke an internal break within the PCV, but the truth is that it was unanimously agreed to advance in the regroupment of revolutionary and popular forces to confront the neo-liberal offensive underway. From that moment on, the virulence of the attacks by representatives of the PSUV increased. Week after week, Diosdado Cabello made use of his shameless control over the state media to assure, without any argument whatsoever, that the PCV had commitments with imperialism. 

The harangues to patriotism have not been lacking in this television campaign of defamation. However, it was Parra himself who surprisingly admitted in a video produced by the government propaganda laboratories that "the PSUV wants the PCV ticket". 

Of course, this is not a secret: as the elections draw nearer and the rejection to the administration of the President grows, the PSUV strives to neutralize any force that might oppose it in order to fabricate a docile opposition; regardless of the methods used for such a purpose. Hence, we have Henry Parra, someone who has already publicly broken with the PCV at least twice, proclaiming himself a communist again and demanding the judicialization of the oldest party in the country, as has already happened with other organizations of the left and, of course, of the right. 

Parra's minutes before the television cameras last Monday were not free of ambiguities. His supposed half century of communist militancy did not spare him from inaccuracies if not insurmountable errors. For example, he assured that he could not go to the "disciplinary tribunal" of the PCV to "ask for justice"; but this figure does not exist in the statutes of the PCV party, whose highest instance for the appeal of decisions is none other than the congress itself. 

This was not Parra's only blunder. His repeated invocation to the "bases of the PCV", so often used in governmental jargon, left aside the fundamental and regular organism of political militancy of the communists: the branches. The reason is clear: neither Parra nor his accomplices belong to any of them, since they are not members of the PCV. 

The funny note of the day (which does not make the situation any less dangerous) was that Mr. Parra did not know how to explain his "rescue plan". Looking to the sides with some anxiety and a tangled tongue, he called himself a member of an "organizing committee" that "had no choice but to resort to the Supreme Court of Justice to file a constitutional appeal". And what were they specifically requesting? A journalist had to come to the rescue to help him pronounce the phrase "ad hoc leadership". 

But there were not only errors and inaccuracies; he also resorted to lies in his statement. Following the matrices promoted by the Government bots on social networks, Parra denounced a non-existent alliance between the PCV and the extreme right-wing opposition, María Corina Machado. What is the proof or arguments that support such a statement? None, it is just "an idea that is emerging", he said. 

A follower of the Goebbelian style of PSUV propaganda, Parra assured that the PCV "is unaware of the blockade" and the role of the US policy that "has starved" (sic) the people. However, it is undeniable the role that the PCV has played in the international communist movement as promoter of important campaigns of global solidarity with Venezuela in the face of imperialist aggression. It is also public knowledge that the PCV has demanded jail for all those who have promoted foreign interference in the country or have stolen assets of the nation. 

This character pretends to replace the nine decades of anti-imperialist tradition of the PCV with the idiotic mantra of "whatever Nicolás says". His performance is closer to the puppets who polemicize at times with the government in front of the microphones pretending a false autonomy, but who vote with their feet on the PSUV projects in the National Assembly. Not without reason, some have begun to call him Henry "sell-out" Parra.

¿Quién es Henry Parra? El operador del Psuv que solicitó la intervención judicial del PCV

Caracas, 14-07-2023 (Por: Neirlay Andrade).- El pasado lunes 10 de julio, a través de un espectacular despliegue de medios de comunicación, desde las afueras del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia (TSJ), el país presenció cómo un puñado de caras aparentemente desconocidas se declaraban las “bases” del Partido Comunista de Venezuela (PCV y exigían su intervención judicial.

Ante las cámaras de esta pauta organizada por el Ministerio de Comunicación e Información, apareció un hombre que alegaba ser militante comunista desde hace 50 años y calificaba a la dirección del PCV de “ilegítima” e “ilegal”. Su nombre es Henry Parra y desde hace algunos meses acompaña al vicepresidente del Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello, en mítines de gobierno.

No es la primera vez que Parra cierra filas con miembros de la junta directiva del Psuv. Ya en 2021 había anunciado públicamente su renuncia al PCV para apoyar la candidatura de Freddy Bernal a la gobernación del estado Táchira.

En ese momento alegó ser un “militante de toda la vida” tal y como lo hizo el pasado 10 de julio a las afueras del TSJ. Y como si de un guión trillado se tratase, en aquel entonces también desconoció la línea política del PCV, construida colectivamente en la XV Conferencia Nacional.

Después de eso, quedó confinado a un cargo burocrático en la región hasta su reaparición en abril de este año, cuando anunció su intención de “rescatar” al PCV. Desde entonces, Parra se sumó al plan de asalto junto con otros operadores políticos de Diosdado Cabello que recorrían el país ofreciendo dinero y posiciones a militantes comunistas para que se sumaran a su aventura. Su fracaso fue estrepitoso; la unidad interna del PCV prevaleció y se vieron obligados a organizar un falso congreso con militantes activos del Psuv para hacer creer a la opinión pública que las denominadas “bases” del PCV estaban en desacuerdo con su dirección y la línea trazada por el XVI Congreso Nacional.

Pero, qué acordó este congreso para desatar esta arremetida antidemocrática en la que Parra tiene una activa participación. Pues bien, el cónclave de los comunistas venezolanos resolvió en noviembre del año pasado romper definitivamente con la política antiobrera y antipopular del presidente Nicolás Maduro.

La cúpula del Psuv esperaba que el XVI Congreso Nacional provocara un quiebre interno en el seno del PCV, pero lo cierto es que por unanimidad se acordó avanzar en el reagrupamiento de fuerzas revolucionarias y populares para hacer frente a la ofensiva neoliberal en curso. A partir de ese momento, la virulencia de los ataques de representantes del Psuv arreció. Semana tras semana, Diosdado Cabello hizo uso de su descarado control sobre los medios estatales para asegurar sin argumento alguno que el PCV tenía compromisos con el imperialismo.

Las arengas al patriotismo no han faltado en esta campaña televisiva de difamación. Sin embargo, fue el propio Parra quien sorpresivamente admitió en un video elaborado por los laboratorios de propaganda gubernamental que “el Psuv quiere la tarjeta del PCV”.

Claro está que esto no es un secreto: a medida que se acercan las elecciones y crece el rechazo a la gestión del Primer Mandatario, el Psuv se esfuerza en neutralizar cualquier fuerza que lo adverse para fabricar una oposición dócil; sin importar los métodos para tal fin. De allí que tengamos a Henry Parra, alguien que ya ha roto públicamente con el PCV al menos dos veces, proclamándose nuevamente comunista y exigiendo la judicialización del partido más antiguo del país, como ya ha ocurrido con otras organizaciones de izquierda y, desde luego, de derecha.

Los minutos de Parra ante las cámaras de televisión el pasado lunes no estuvieron exentos de ambigüedades. Su supuesto medio siglo de militancia comunista no lo libró de imprecisiones cuando no de errores insalvables. Por ejemplo, aseguró que no podía ir al “tribunal disciplinario” del PCV para “pedir justicia”; pero esa figura no existe en los estatutos del partido del Gallo Rojo, cuya máxima instancia para la apelación de decisiones no es otra que el propio congreso.

No fue éste el único desatino de Parra. Su reiterada invocación a las “bases del PCV”, tan empleada en la jerga gubernamental dejaba de lado al organismo fundamental y regular de militancia política de los comunistas: la célula. La razón es clara: ni Parra ni sus cómplices pertenecen a alguna, pues no son militantes del PCV.

La nota graciosa de la jornada (que no hace menos peligrosa la situación) fue que el señor Parra no supo explicar su “plan de rescate”. Mirando a los lados con algo de ansiedad y la lengua enredada se autonombró integrante de un “comité organizador” que “no tenía más remedio que recurrir al TSJ a meter un recurso de amparo constitucional”. ¿Y qué solicitaban concretamente? Una periodista debió acudir al rescate para ayudarlo a deletrear la frase “junta ad hoc”.

Pero no solo hubo errores e imprecisiones; también recurrió a las mentiras en su declaración. Siguiendo las matrices promovidas por los bots del Gobierno en redes sociales, Parra denunció una inexistente alianza entre el PCV y la opositora de extrema derecha, María Corina Machado. ¿Cuáles son las pruebas o argumentos que sostienen semejante planteamiento? Ninguno, es solo “una idea que se está asomando”, dijo.

Seguidor del estilo goebbeliano de hacer propaganda del Psuv, Parra aseguró que el PCV “desconoce el bloqueo” y el papel de la política de Estados Unidos que “ha hambriado”(sic) al pueblo. Sin embargo, es inocultable el rol que ha tenido el PCV en el movimiento comunista internacional como impulsor de importantes campañas de solidaridad mundial con Venezuela ante la agresión imperialista. También es de conocimiento público que el PCV ha pedido cárcel para todos aquellos que han promovido injerencia extranjera en el país o han robado activos de la nación.

Este personaje pretende reemplazar las nueve décadas de tradición antiimperialista del PCV con el mantra idiotizador “lo que diga Nicolás”. Su actuación está más próxima a los fantoches que polemizan a ratos con el gobierno ante los micrófonos fingiendo una falsa autonomía, pero que votan a pie juntillas los proyectos del Psuv en la Asamblea Nacional. No sin razón, algunos lo han comenzado a llamar Henry “alacrán” Parra.
