Solidarity with the PCV, solidarity with comrade Héctor Alejo Rodríguez! Hands off the communists!

The New Communist Party of the Netherlands (NCPN) expresses its full solidarity with comrade Héctor Alejo Rodríguez, PCV Secretary of International Relations, who is being charged with the “alleged detour and facilitation of fuel to extreme right-wing factors, who intended to generate a climate of violence and destabilization throughout the country during the presidential elections of July 28”

These absurd charges against comrade Héctor constitute another episode in the attack of the Maduro government against the PCV. The government attempts to liquidate the PCV and attacks its members because the comrades play a leading role in struggling against the anti-worker policies of the so-called “socialist” PSUV. The anti-communist Maduro government has strengthened its ties with US imperialism, but also works together closely with other imperialist countries such as capitalist Russia and other BRICS countries. The government attempts to co-opt the labour and popular movement for its plans to safeguard the interests of the Venezuelan bourgeoisie and its allies.

The NCPN reiterates its solidarity with the PCV and with the Venezuelan people in their struggle for a just future for the workers and people of Venezuela.
