On Haniyeh's assassination and Israel's attack in Beirut
International Commission of the NCPN
The NCPN condemns Israel's attack in Beirut in Lebanon and the almost simultaneous assassination of the Hamas leader in Tehran in Iran, which lead to a dangerous escalation of the situation and in the Middle East. Several people were killed and dozens injured in the attacks. The well-known arguments used by the occupying state of Israel, with the support of the US, NATO and the EU, cannot disguise the repeated and sustained aggression against Lebanon, the long-term occupation of territories in Lebanon and Syria, the Golan Heights and, of course, the genocide of the people of Palestine with more than 40,000 dead.
The Dutch government does not condemn these actions and continues to support Israel unconditionally. The Dutch bourgeoisie and its government are complicit in facilitating Israel's criminal acts. The NCPN expresses its solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon and with the struggle of the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation and apartheid, for their own state. It is now more important than ever that we continue to fight against Dutch interference in the genocide, for the severing of all ties with Israel and for the immediate recognition of the Palestinian state by the Netherlands.
