The 14th International Meeting of CWP
(Beirut, Lebanon 23-25 November 2012)
Opening speech
Dear Comrades,

We welcome you in this 14 th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) which takes place in Beirut - capital of the “Patriotic Resistance Front” and Capital of the Arab capitals- which the Communists had the honor of liberating, just after few days of it being disgraced by the Israeli occupying army. The occupiers were then forced to leave, frightened and screaming “ O people of Beirut, do not shoot at us, we are retreating”.

Beirut is also the city of the poor people, where the Lebanese working class had, since the thirties of the last century, faced its class enemy in the form of the French colonizer and the subordinate Lebanese bourgeoisie back then. The working class had won over its class enemy by enforcing its project for the Labour law and the right for syndicate organization.
And until today, this class is still facing this common enemy who is trying, by the civil wars which it detonates every now and then, and by the battle over living conditions, salaries and social benefits. It is a project through which this class is trying to perpetuate its control over our country and to tie the fate of our people with that of the ever-renewed old imperialist projects, beginning with what is known as “the project for a new middle east” which aims at subdividing our region and country into sectarian-based entities which will allow it to colonize us again and exploit our natural resources.

It was convenient step for our meeting to have chosen Lebanon, and Beirut specifically, as a place for our conference which carries the slogan:“ Strengthen the struggles against escalating imperialist aggressiveness , for satisfying peoples’ socio-economic-democratic rights and aspirations , for socialism”
The new Israeli agression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and, before this, the interference of imperialism, especially after the two revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt, to prevent our people to realize their needs and aspirations are very significant. They clearly express that our region still the priority in the imperialist policies which were defined not only by the ex new president of the USA in his speech in Cairo University, but also by NATO Lisbon Summit.
Comrades,

We have a lot to discuss in the coming days. Our peoples are looking forward to what we will decide, especially in the field of writing down a common program for struggle and in putting down common plans to apply it.
It is no longer possible to treat the hostility of capitalism by pain killers, this should happen through setting wide alliances between the world working class and its representatives, for independence, autonomy and human dignity.

كلمة إفتتاح اللقاء الـ 14 للأحزاب الشيوعية والعمالية العالمية

الرفيقات والرفاق الأعزاء،

نرحب بكم في اللقاء الرابع عشر للأحزاب الشيوعية والعمالية العالمية الذي يعقد في بيروت، عاصمة المقاومة الوطنية وأم العواصم العربية، التي كان للشيوعيين شرف تحريرها، بعد بضعة أيام على تدنيسها من قبل جيش الإحتلال الإسرائيلي، فخرج المحتلون خائفين وهم يصرخون في مكبرات الصوت: "يا أهل بيروت، لا تطلقوا النار علينا، فنحن منسحبون".

وبيروت هي أيضاً مدينة الفقراء، حيث واجهت الطبقة العاملة اللبنانية، منذ ثلاثينيات القرن العشرين، العدو الطبقي المتمثل بالإنتداب الفرنسي والبرجوازية اللبنانية التابعة له آنذاك فانتصرت عليه بفرض مشروعها لقانون العمل ولحق التنظيم النقابي... وهي لا تزال تواجه، اليوم أيضاً، هذا العدو المشترك الذي يحاول، عبر الحروب الأهلية التي يفجرها من حين الى آخر، وعبر الحرب على لقمة العيش والأجور والتأمينات الإجتماعية، أن يؤبد سيطرته على وطننا وأن يربط مصير شعبنا بالمشاريع الإمبريالية القديمة ـ الجديدة، وفي مقدمتها ما يسمى بمشروع "الشرق الأوسط الجديد" الذي يهدف الى تفتيت منطقتنا ووطننا الى كيانات مبنية على أسس طائفية تحقق له استعمارنا مجدداً واستثمار ثرواتنا الطبيعية.

الرفيقات والرفاق،

نعتقد اننا قد أصبنا (نجحنا) باختيارنا لبنان، وبيروت بالتحديد، كمركز لمؤتمرنا الذي يحمل شعار "تعزيز النضالات ضد تصاعد عدوانية الإمبريالية، من أجل تحقيق حاجات الشعوب وتطلعاتها الإجتماعية ـ الإقتصادية ـ الديمقراطية، من أجل الإشتراكية". فما يجري اليوم من عدوان إسرائيلي على شعب فلسطين في قطاع غزة، وما جرى ويجري من تدخل إمبريالي في الشؤون الداخلية للبلدان العربية لمنع شعوبنا من تحقيق حاجاتها وطموحاتها، وبالتحديد بعد ثورتي تونس ومصر، يؤكد أن منطقتنا لا تزال تشكّل الموقع الأول في السياسات الإمبريالية التي حددها رئيس الولايات المتحدة باراك أوباما في خطابه في جامعة القاهرة، منذ عدة سنوات، وأعادت قمة لشبونة للحلف الأطلسي صياغتها.

لدينا الكثير لنناقشه خلال الأيام المقبلة فشعوبنا تتطلع الى ما سنصل اليه، خاصة في مجال صياغة برنامج مشترك للنضال وفي وضع الخطط المشتركة لتنفيذه.

فلم يعد بالإمكان معالجة عدوانية الرأسمالية بالمسكنات، بل بإقامة التحالفات الواسعة بين الطبقة العاملة العالمية، وممثليها، وبين الشعوب المناضلة من أجل الإستقلال والسيادة والكرامة الإنسانية.
