Solidarity with the people of Sudan, the Sudanese Professionals Association and the  لحزبالشيوعيالسوداني Sudanese Communist Party-SCP – Demonstration in front of the EuropeanParliament in Brussels

To the cries of "Tawra" (Revolution), freedom, peace and justice, nearly 400 Sudanese demonstrators in Belgium gathered in front of the European Parliament in Brussels to express their solidarity with their brothers and sisters in the country who were demonstrating this October 30 by tens of thousands against the military coup led on October 25 by General Al-Buhran, a former executive of the dictatorship of Omar Al Bashir. The conquests of the "December Revolution" three years ago have been suspended and the junta is violently repressing the popular movement, which is spear headed by the Sudanese Communist Party and the Sudanese Association of Professionals, which are calling for occupation of the streets and a general strike. There are already 12 dead, including 3 on 30th of October, and manypoliticalprisoners. 

The objective of the military, which confiscates 82% of the country's economic capacity, is to continue selling the country to imperialist appetites. The military regime also serves the interests of regional powers such as Saudi Arabia, which was and is willing to continue to supply itself with Sudanese soldiers and mercenaries as cannon fodder for the war in Yemen. 

As in 2018 and 2019, during the "December Revolution", and as internationalists, we were present alongside the Sudanese in Belgium, to oppose the Coup and denounce the imperialisms that destabilise and plunder Sudan. By distributing the joint communiqué of the Communist and Workers' Parties, we expressed our support to the people of Sudan, to the association of professionals and to the Sudanese Communist Party which is fighting not only to overthrow the coup plotters but also to deepen the Revolution. We link the struggle of the Sudanese in Belgium for their country with the struggle for their rights in Belgium. Many Sudanese are or have been locked up in the closed centres, which we still demand to be closed immediately.
