As it is stated in the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government of Cuba on the last February 13^th, “the escalation of the U.S. Government´s pressures and actions to set the stage for a military adventure disguised as humanitarian intervention” is not just a real threat against the Venezuelan people, but also against world peace.

Washington should not underestimate the costs of an aggression against Venezuela. The possibility of a disastrous regionalization of the armed conflict would affect our peoples and all social, economic and political sectors.

We are in the face of a typical threat of imperialist aggression -regardless the disguise used- whose main objective is the appropriation by the United States of the biggest certified reserves of oil in the planet. It is evident, once again, Washington´s contempt for the dozens of thousands of civilian casualties that could be brought about by such at sight conflagration.

It would an attack not only to the Bolivarian Revolution. In the logic of the hawks that control Trump Administration´s policy towards Latin America, this action is seen as the final thrust against the left and progressive forces all over the world. Today it is Venezuela; tomorrow will be Nicaragua, Bolivia or Cuba. 

Therefore, the defense of the Bolivarian Revolution becomes the first trench in the struggle for the sovereignty of Our America, for the ideal of social justice, peace with dignity and unity all over the world.

We reaffirm at this time the thesis of our government when it reminds that “what it is at stake today in Venezuela is the sovereignty and dignity of Latin America and the Caribbean and of the peoples of the South. It is also at stake the survival of the norms of international law and the U.N. Charter. It is at stake whether the legitimacy of a government comes from the sovereignly expressed will of its people, or from the recognition by foreign powers”.

We call for a united march to show to the Yankee Empire that the peoples of the world do have a sense of sovereignty. This is the time for communist and workers´s parties from all continents to show the immense political potential that we represent in the struggle against war and in the defense of peace.

MENSAJE URGENTE A LAS FUERZAS POLITICAS COMUNISTAS Y OBRERAS DEL MUNDO:

Como enfatiza la Declaración del Gobierno Revolucionario de Cuba, del pasado 13 de febrero, “la escalada de presiones y acciones del Gobierno de los Estados Unidos para preparar una aventura militar disfrazada de intervención humanitaria”, no solamente constituye una amenaza real contra el pueblo venezolano, sino que entraña un peligro real  para la paz en el mundo.

Washington no debería subestimar los costos de una agresión contra Venezuela. La posibilidad de una desastrosa regionalización del conflicto armado afectaría a  nuestros pueblos y a todos los sectores sociales, económicos y políticos.

Estamos ante una típica amenaza de agresión imperialista, ─se disfrace como se disfrace─, cuyo objetivo principal es la apropiación, por parte de los Estados Unidos, de las mayores reservas certificadas de petróleo del planeta. Se evidencia, una vez más, el desprecio de Washington a las decenas de miles de víctimas civiles que podría producir una conflagración como la que está a la vista.

No sería solo un ataque contra la Revolución Bolivariana. En la lógica de los halcones que controlan la política de la administración de Trump hacia la América Latina, la acción es vista como una embestida final contra la izquierda y las fuerzas progresistas en todo el mundo. Hoy es Venezuela, mañana serán Nicaragua, Bolivia o Cuba.

La defensa de la Revolución Bolivariana, en consecuencia, pasa a ser la primera trinchera en la lucha por la soberanía de Nuestra América, por el ideal de justicia social, paz con dignidad, y unidad en todo el orbe. 

Reafirmamos en estos momentos la tesis de nuestro Gobierno, cuando recuerda que “se decide hoy en Venezuela la soberanía y la dignidad de América Latina y el Caribe y de los pueblos del Sur. Se decide también la supervivencia de las normas del derecho internacional y la Carta de las Naciones Unidas. Se define sí la legitimidad de un gobierno emana de la voluntad expresa y soberana de su pueblo, o del reconocimiento de potencias extranjeras”.

Llamamos a la marcha unida, a mostrar al Imperio yanqui que los pueblos del mundo sí tienen sentido de su soberanía. Es el momento en que los partidos comunistas y obreros de todos los continentes mostremos el inmenso potencial político que representamos en la lucha contra la guerra y en defensa de la paz.
