Freedom for Palestine! Massive rally in Athens and many other cities

On Wednesday, 18 October, a massive rally was organized by Trade Unions, Federations, Labour Centres, Students'and Women's Associations etc., expressing their solidarity with the people of Palestine, condemning the new crimes of Israel and its allies, USA-EU-NATO, in the Gaza Strip and demanding the recognition of the Palestinian state.

The participants fiercely denounced the attitude of the Greek government and of the bourgeois parties of SYRIZA and PASOK, who support the Israeli occupation and reproduce the false pretexts of the State of Israel for the massacre of the people of Gaza.

The solidarity rally began with a speech by the Palestinian Ambassador to Greece, Yussef Dorkhom, followed by the ones of representatives of trade unions of Athens.

The rally in solidarity with the Palestinian people was attended by the GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, who made the following statement:

"We are here to express our solidarity with the struggling Palestinian people who have been suffering for decades from the murderous policy of the State of Israel and its government through the killing of civilians, encroachment of Palestinian territory, occupation, blockades, settlements, apartheid.

We also express our solidarity with the Israeli people who are suffering from the State of Israel itself, from the reactionary Netanyahu government that is dragging them into the carnage of war and conflicts against other peoples and makes them both perpetrator and victim at the same time.

The Greek government bearsenormous responsibilities, while the other opposition parties are tolerant of its attitude. We demand the immediate withdrawal of theGreek frigate “Psara”as well as of any other military means deployed in the Middle East region. No to the deployment of  Greek armed forces outside our borders. The bases of NATO in Greece must close. Our country must not participate in this carnage in the Middle East because the Greek people themselves will eventually pay the price. We demand freedom for Palestine. The occupying Israeli troops must leave the Palestinian territories immediately. An independent Palestinian state, on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital must be established."

After the speeches the massive rally headed towards the US and Israeli embassies. Outside the Israeli embassy the police threwtear gas and stun grenades into the rally, in an unprovoked attack against the thousands of protesters.

Mass rallies and demonstrationswere organized in many other cities of Greece as well, such as Patras, Larissa, Mytilene, etc.

Свободу Палестине! Крупные акции солидарности с палестинским народом в Афинах и многих других городах

В среду, 18 октября, профсоюзы, федерации, рабочие центры трудящихся, студенческие профсоюзы, женские организации и др. приняли участие в крупной акции солидарности с народом Палестины, состоявшейся  в Афинах. Они осудили новые преступления Израиля и его союзников – США,ЕС,НАТО в секторе Газа и потребовали признания палестинского государства.

Участники митинга, в частности, осудили позицию греческого правительства, а также буржуазных партий СИРИЗА и ПАСОК, которые поддерживают израильскую оккупацию и воспроизводят жалкие предлоги Государства Израиль, оправдывающие резню народа Газы.

Митинг начался с выступления посла Палестины в Греции Юсефа Дорхома, а затем выступили представители профсоюзов Афин.

В митинге солидарности с палестинским народом принял участие Генсек ЦК КПГ Димитрис Куцумбас, который в своем заявлении журналистам отметил:

«Мы сегодня находимся здесь, чтобы выразить нашу солидарность с борющимся палестинским народом, который десятилетиями страдает от преступной политики государства Израиль и его правительства, сопровождающейся убийствами мирных жителей, вторжением на палестинские земли, оккупацией, блокадами, созданием поселений, апартеидом.

В то же время мы выражаем нашу солидарность с израильским народом, который сам страдает от Государства Израиль, от реакционного правительства Нетаньяху, которое отправляет его на бойню войны, втягивает в конфликты против других народов и делает его одновременно преступником и жертвой. Греческое правительство несет огромную ответственность за происходящее при терпимости других оппозиционных партий. Мы требуем немедленно отозвать фрегат «Псара» и любую другую нашу военную технику, находящуюся в ближневосточном регионе, вывести военный контингент, находящийся за пределами страны, закрыть базы смерти в Греции. Никакой причастности нашей страны к бойне на Ближнем Востоке, потому что в конечном итоге за это дорого заплатит сам греческий народ. Мы требуем свободы Палестине. Оккупационные войска Израиля должны быть немедленно выведены с палестинских территорий. Должно быть создано независимое палестинское государство в границах 1967 года со столицей в Восточном Иерусалиме».

После митинга участники акции направились к посольствам США и Израиля. У здания посольства Израиля тысячи протестующих подверглись неспровоцированному нападению со стороны полиции, которая применила слезоточивый газ и светошумовые гранаты.

Аналогичные массовые акции протеста прошли во многих других греческих городах, таких как Патры, Лариса, на острове Митилини и др.

¡Libertad para Palestina! Multitudinaria concentración en Atenas y en muchas otras ciudades

Una multitudinara concentración realizaron el miércoles 18 de octubre sindicatos, federaciones y centros laborales, asociaciones de estudiantes universitarios, organizaciones de mujeres etc., manifestando la solidaridad con el pueblo de Palestina, condenando los nuevos crímenes de Israel y sus aliados –EE.UU, UE, OTAN- en la Franja de Gaza y exigiendo el reconocimiento del Estado palestino.

La gente concentrada denunció en particular la postura del gobierno griego así como de los partidos burgueses SYRIZA y PASOK que apoyan la ocupación israelí y reproducen los pretextos miserables del Estado de Israel para la masacre del pueblo de Gaza.

La concentración de solidaridad comenzó con el discurso de Youssef Dorhom, embajador de Palestina en Grecia, y luego se pronunciaron discursos por sindicatos de Atenas.

A la manifestación de solidaridad con el pueblo palestino asistió además el Secretario General del CC del KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, que dijo en su declaración:

“Estamos aquí para expresar nuestra solidaridad con el pueblo palestino en lucha que sufre desde hace décadas por la política asesina del Estado de Israel y de su gobierno con los asesinatos de civiles, la usurpación de territorios palestinos, la ocupación, el bloqueo, los asentamientos, el apartheid.

Al mismo tiempo expresamos nuestra solidaridad con el pueblo israelí que también sufre por el propio Estado de Israel, por el gobierno reaccionario de Netanyahu que lo lleva a la matanza de la guerra, de los conflictos contra otros pueblos convirtiéndolo en verdugo y víctima al mismo tiempo.

El gobierno griego tiene enormes responsabilidades criminales, con la tolerancia de los demás partidos de la oposición. Exigimos ahora mismo que se retire la fragata “Psará” o cualquier otro activo militar en la región del Oriente Medio. Que no se envíen fuerzas militares fuera de las fronteras. Que se cierren las bases de muerte en Grecia. Que no participe nuestro país en esta matanza en el Oriente Medio porque al final el pueblo griego pagará un alto precio. Exigimos, pedimos libertad para Palestina. Que las tropas israelíes de ocupación abandonen inmediatamente el territorio palestino. Que se cree un Estado palestino independiente en las fronteras de 1967 con Jerusalén Este como su capital.”

A continuación, la multitudinaria manifestación se dirigió hacia la embajada de EE.UU y la embajada de Israel. Fuera de la embajada de Israel miles de manifestantes fueron atacados sin provocación por la policía con gases químicos y granadas aturdidoras.

Similares concentraciones y movilizaciones multitudinarias tuvieron lugar en muchas ciudades de Grecia, como Patras, Larisa, Mitilene etc.

Liberté pour la Palestine! Grand rassemblement à Athènes et dans de nombreuses autres villes

Le mercredi 18 octobre, un grand rassemblement a été organisé par des Syndicats, des Fédérations, des Centres Syndicaux Régionaux, des Associations des Étudiants, desFemmes, etc., exprimant leur solidarité avec le peuple de Palestine, condamnant les nouveaux crimes d'Israël et de ses alliés, USA-UE-OTAN, dans la bande de Gaza et exigeant la reconnaissance de l'État palestinien.

Les participants ont dénoncé en particulier l'attitude du gouvernement grec et des partis bourgeois de SYRIZA et du PASOK, qui soutiennent l'occupation israélienne et reproduisent les misérables prétextes de l'État d'Israël pour le massacre dupeuple de Gaza.

Le rassemblement de solidarité a commencé par un discours de l'Ambassadeur Palestinien en Grèce, Yussef Dorkhom, suivi par ceux des représentants des syndicats d'Athènes.

Le Secrétaire Général du CC du KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, a assisté au rassemblement de solidarité avec le peuple palestinien et a fait la déclaration suivante:

"Nous sommes ici pour exprimer notre solidarité avec le peuple palestinien en lutte qui souffre depuis des décennies de la politique meurtrière de l'État d'Israël et de son gouvernement à travers desassassinats de civils, l’empiétement sur les territoires palestiniens, l'occupation, les blocus, les colonies, l'apartheid.

En même temps, nous exprimons  notre solidarité avec le peuple israélien qui souffre de l'État d'Israël lui-même, du gouvernement réactionnaire de Netanyahou qui l'entraîne dans le carnage de la guerre et des conflits contre d'autres peuples et le rend à la fois coupable et victime.

Le gouvernement grec porte de graves responsabilités, alors que les autres partis d'opposition sont tolérants vis-à-vis de son attitude. Nous exigeons le retrait immédiat de la frégate grecque "Psara" ainsi que de tout autre moyen militaire déployé dans la région du Moyen-Orient. Non au déploiement des forces armées grecques en dehors de nos frontières. Les bases de l'OTAN en Grèce doivent fermer. Notre pays ne doit pas participer à ce carnage au Moyen-Orient car c'est le peuple grec lui-même qui finira par en payer le prix. Nous exigeons la liberté pour la Palestine. Les troupes d'occupation israéliennes doivent quitter immédiatement les territoires palestiniens. Un État palestinien indépendant, sur les frontières de 1967, avec Jérusalem-Est comme capitale, doit être créé".

Après les discours, le rassemblement massif s'est dirigé vers les ambassades américaine et israélienne. Devant l'ambassade d'Israël, la police a attaqué sans provocation les milliers de manifestants, en lançant des gaz lacrymogènes et des grenades assourdissantes sur eux.

Des rassemblements de masse et des mobilisations ont également été organisés dans de nombreuses autres villes de Grèce, telles que Patras, Larissa, Mytilène, etc.

الحرية لفلسطين! تظاهرة كبيرة في أثينا والعديد من المدن الأخرى

 أقامت اتحادات و مراكز نقابية عمالية و جمعيات طلابية و نسائية تظاهرة هائلة يوم اﻷربعاء 18\10 إعراباً عن تضامنها مع الشعب الفلسطيني، وإدانة لجرائم إسرائيل الجديدة و لحلفائها: الولايات المتحدة والاتحاد الأوروبي والناتو، المقترفة في قطاع غزة مطالبين بالاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية.

وأدان المتظاهرون بنحو خاص موقف الحكومة اليونانية وكذلك الأحزاب البرجوازية سيريزا- الباسوك، التي تدعم الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وتعيد إنتاج الذرائع البائسة التي تختلقها دولة إسرائيل للمذبحة التي يتعرض لها سكان غزة.

و كانت التظاهرة قد بوشرت بكلمة ألقاها يوسف درخم، سفير فلسطين لدى اليونان، وتلاها إلقاء كلمات من قبل ممثلي النقابات العمالية في أثينا.

هذا وشارك في التظاهرة التضامنية مع الشعب الفلسطيني الأمين العام للجنة المركزية للحزب الشيوعي اليوناني، ذيميتريس كوتسوباس، الذي ذكر في تصريحاته:

«إننا متواجدون هنا للتعبير عن تضامننا مع الشعب الفلسطيني المكافح الذي يعاني منذ عقود من السياسة الإجرامية التي تنتهجها دولة إسرائيل وحكومتها، مع قتل العُزَّل، والتعدي على الأراضي الفلسطينية و ممارسة الاحتلال والحصار و الإستيطان و نظام الفصل العنصري.

وفي الوقت نفسه، نعرب عن تضامننا مع الشعب الإسرائيلي الذي يعاني نفسه من دولة إسرائيل نفسها، من حكومة نتنياهو الرجعية التي ترسله إلى مذبحة الحرب والصدامات ضد الشعوب الأخرى وتجعل منه جانياً و ضحية في نفس الوقت.

تقع على الحكومة اليونانية مسؤوليات إجرامية ضخمة مع تسامح تبديه أحزاب المعارضة الأخرى. إننا نطالب هنا والآن بسحب فرقاطة "بسارا" و كل وسائطنا الحربية من منطقة الشرق اﻷوسط. و بعدم إرسال أي قوات عسكرية خارج الحدود. و إغلاق قواعد الموت في اليونان. و عدم مشاركة بلادنا في هذه المذبحة في الشرق الأوسط لأن الشعب اليوناني نفسه سيدفع ثمنها في نهاية المطاف. إننا نطالب و ننادي بالحرية لفلسطين و بانسحاب قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي من الأراضي الفلسطينية هنا والآن.  و قيام دولة فلسطينية مستقلة على حدود عام 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية».

بعد ذلك توجهت مسيرة ضخمة نحو السفارتين الأمريكية والإسرائيلية. حيث تعرض آلاف المتظاهرين خارج السفارة الإسرائيلية لهجوم غير مبرر بالمواد الكيميائية والقنابل الصوتية من قبل الشرطة. و كانت تظاهرات و تحركات جماهيرية مقابلة قد أجريت في العديد من المدن اليونانية الأخرى، مثل باترا و لاريسا و ميتيليني وغيرها.
