Mass anti-war and anti-fascist rally

On 1 November 2023, trade unions and mass organizations condemned the massacre of the Palestinian people and Greece's involvement in it, holding a mass rally and demonstration in the northern districts of Athens (Nea Ionia and Neo Heraklion).

The demand for a free Palestine permeated the banners and slogans of the workers’ and pensioners’ unions, the Students’ Coordinating Committee, the Women’s Association of the Federation of Greek Women (OGE) and the students’ unions.

At the same time, the demonstrators also responded to the call of 40 trade unions and mass organizations and sent a clear message that the fascists, who tried to organize a pan-European meeting of their ilk in Neo Heraklion on the same day, are not welcome in the neighbourhoods, schools and workplaces.

“The current government, as well as all the previous ones, have spent huge amounts of money —our money— to aid the criminal alliance of NATO. They have spent our money and sweat for the so-called national interests. We cannot help but wonder: What national interests are now being served by sending frigates to the Middle East, by stripping our islands of arms and sending them to the reactionary Zelenskiy government, by deploying military missions abroad? At the same time, high prices are skyrocketing, school maintenance is inadequate, health centres are threatened with closure and the only hospital left in the region suffers from severe shortages. Large sums of money are being allocated to NATO while our needs are being neglected and our lives are deteriorating. We demand that the money be spent on education and not on the slaughterhouse of NATO” stressed the speakers at the anti-war and anti-fascist rally.

At the same time, the trade unions in Athens held a mobilization in solidarity with the people of Palestine inside the Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos", demanding:

• That no support be given to the Netanyahu government and the terrorist state of Israel.
• That our country does not provide bases and other infrastructure to aid the USA, NATO and Israel. That the war hawks leave Souda and Elefsina immediately. That the frigate “Psara” returns to Greece.
• That all economic - political - military cooperation with the murderous state of Israel should cease.
• The immediate recognition of the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Крупный антивоенный и антифашистский митинг

Вчера вечером, 1 ноября 2023 года, в северных районах Афин (Неа Иония и Нео Ираклион) состоялись крупный митинг и демонстрация​​ профсоюзов и массовых организаций против резни палестинского народа и участия в ней Греции.

Представители рабочих профсоюзов, организаций пенсионеров, студенческих координационных комитетов, женских организаций (ОГЭ) и студенческих профсоюзов вышли с транспарантами, скандируя лозунг «Свободу Палестине!»

В то же время участники митинга, откликнувшись на призыв 40 профсоюзов и общественных организаций, послали ясный сигнал о том, что фашисты, пытавшиеся провести общеевропейскую встречу своих организаций в тот же день в Нео Ираклионе, являются нежелательными в соседних кварталах, школах и на предприятиях.

Как отметили выступавшие на антивоенном и антифашистском митинге: «Правительство, как и все предыдущие правительства, тратит огромные суммы наших денег на нужды НАТО, этого преступного союза. Прикрываясь «национальными интересами» они тратят наши с таким большим трудом заработанные деньги. Естественно, они не могут ответить на вопрос, каким национальным интересам сейчас служат фрегаты на Ближнем Востоке, обезоруживание наших островов и отправка оружия реакционному правительству Зеленского, а затем отправка военных миссий... И в то же самое время с каждым днем растет дороговизна, здесь, в наших районах не проводятся элементарные проверки уровня безопасности школ, медицинские центры находятся под угрозой закрытия, единственная больница в нашем районе испытывает огромный дефицит кадров. Вывод: огромные деньги идут на нужды НАТО, а наша жизнь постоянно ухудшается. Поэтому  мы требуем: дайте деньги на образование, не тратьте их на натовские бойни».

В тот же день профсоюзы Афин провели акцию солидарности с народом Палестины в стенах международного аэропорта Афин «Эл. Венизелос», требуя:

• Никакой поддержки правительству Нетаньяху и террористическому государству Израиль.
• Ни одна военная база и другая инфраструктура нашей страны не должна предоставляться США, НАТО и Израилю. Коршуны войны, убирайтесь прочь из Суды и Элевсины. Фрегат «Псара» должен вернуться назад.
• Прекратить любое экономическое, политическое и военное сотрудничество с преступным государством Израиль.
• Немедленно признать палестинское государство в границах 1967 года со столицей в Восточном Иерусалиме.

Grand rassemblement anti-guerre et anti-fasciste

Des syndicats et des organisations de masse ont condamné le massacre du peuple Palestinien et l'implication de la Grèce dans ce massacre lors d'un très grand rassemblement et d'une manifestation qui ont eu lieu le 1er novembre 2023 dans les quartiers Nord d'Athènes (Nea Ionia et Neo Heraklion).

La revendication "liberté pour la Palestine"a été écrite sur les banderoles et a donné le ton aux slogans des syndicats de travailleurs et de retraités, du Comité de Coordination des élèves, de l'Association des femmes de laFédération des Femmes en Grèce (OGE) et des associations d'étudiants.

Dans le même temps, en répondant à l'appel lancé par 40 syndicats et organisations de masse, les manifestants ont envoyé un message clair selon lequel les fascistes, qui ont tenté d'organiser un rassemblement paneuropéen de leur espèce le même jour à Neo Heraklion, ne sont pas les bienvenus dans les quartiers, dans les écoles, sur les lieux de travail.

Comme l'ont souligné les intervenants lors du rassemblement anti-guerre et antifasciste, "le gouvernement et tous les gouvernements précédents dépensent d'énormes quantités de notre argent pour soutenir l'OTAN, cette alliance criminelle. Ils dépensent notre argent, notre sueur, pour les soi-disant "intérêts nationaux". Quels intérêts nationaux sont servis par les frégates au Moyen-Orient, ou en dépouillant nos îles d'armes pour les envoyer au gouvernement réactionnaire de Zelensky, ou par l'envoi de missions militaires hors de nos frontières? ils ne peuvent bien sûr pas répondre à cette question... En même temps, l’inflation galope, aucun contrôle n'a été effectué sur la sécurité des établissements  scolaires de nos quartiers, les Centres de Santé risquent de fermer, le seul hôpital que nous avons dans la région connaît un manque dramatique de personnel. Des sommes énormes sont donnés à l'OTAN alors que nos besoins sont négligés et que nos vies se dégradent. Donc, nous exigeons: "Donnez de l'argent pour l'éducation et non pour l’abattoir de l'OTAN."

Le même jour, les syndicats d'Athènes ont organisé une mobilisation de solidarité avec le peuple de Palestine à l'intérieur de l'aéroport international d'Athènes "EleftheriosVenizelos", exigeant:

• Aucun soutien au gouvernement Netanyahou et à l'État terroriste d'Israël.
• Aucune concession des bases et d'autres infrastructures de notre pays pour faciliter les États-Unis, l'OTAN et Israël. Que les faucons quittent Souda et Elefsina immédiatement. Que la frégate Psara rentre en Grèce.
• Halte à toute coopération économique, politique et militaire avec l'État meurtrier d'Israël.
• Reconnaissance immédiate de l'État Palestinien sur les frontières de 1967 avec Jérusalem-Est comme capitale.

تظاهرة كبيرة مناهضة للحرب و الفاشية

أدانت النقابات والمنظمات الجماهيرية، بعد ظهر أمس، اﻷول من تشرين الثاني\نوفمبر 2023  مذبحة الشعب الفلسطيني وتورط اليونان فيها، عِبر إقامة تجمع ومظاهرة كبيرة للغاية في الضواحي الشمالية لأثينا (نيا إيونيا ونيو إيراكليو).

هذا و حددت المطالبة بالحرية لفلسطين محتوى لافتات وشعارات نقابات العمال و جمعيات المتقاعدين ولجنة تنسيق تلاميذ المدارس الإعدادية و الثانوية والجمعية النسائية واتحادات الطلاب.

و بالتوازي، استجاب المتظاهرون أيضاً لنداء كان قد وجهته 40 نقابة ومنظمة، و بعثوا برسالة واضحة مفادها أن الفاشيين، الذين سعوا إلى تنظيم تجمع أوروبي لأمثالهم في نفس اليوم في نيو هيراكليو، ليسوا مرحباً بهم في الأحياء السكنية والمدارس و مواقع العمل.

وكما سجَّل المتحدثون في المظاهرة المناهضة للحرب والفاشية: “إن الحكومة، وكذلك جميع الحكومات السابقة، تنفق مبالغ ضخمة من أموالنا، لمساعدة الناتو، هذا التحالف الإجرامي. إنها تنفقو أموالنا الخاصة وعرقنا من أجل "مصالح وطنية" مزعومة. ما هي المصالح الوطنية التي تخدمها الآن الفرقاطات المتواجدة الشرق الأوسط، و يخدمها تجريد جزرنا من الأسلحة و إرسالها إلى حكومة زيلينسكي الرجعية و إرسال مهام عسكرية بعد وقوع أحداث، إن هذه هي تساؤلات لا يمكنهم بالطبع الرد عليها... وفي الوقت نفسه وبينما يحدث كل هذا، فإن الغلاء يسحق دخل الشعب، وهنا في مناطقنا لا يتم إجراء كشوفات أولية على أبنية  المدارس، و مهددة باﻹغلاق هي المراكز الصحية، و يعاني من نقص كبير المستشفى الوحيد الموجود في منطقتنا. و بالتالي، فهم  يغدقون المال على حاجات الناتو و يحكمون بالتدهور المستمر على إرضاء حاجاتنا وحياتنا. لكننا نقول: أمنحوا المال لحاجات التعليم لا لمذابح الناتو".

و في الوقت نفسه ذات اليوم، نفذت نقابات عمال أثينا تحركاً تضامنياً مع شعب فلسطين داخل مطار أثينا الدولي "إليفثيريوس فينيزيلوس"، مطالبين بما يلي:

• لا لأي دعم لحكومة نتنياهو ودولة إسرائيل الإرهابية.
• لا لمنح أي تسهيل من قبل بلدنا من منشآت و قواعد وبنية تحتية أخرى للولايات المتحدة وحلف شمال الأطلسي وإسرائيل. فلتنقلع الآن صقور الحرب من قواعد سوذا وإليفسينا. و لتعُد فوراً فرقاطة "بسارا".
• فلتتوقف كل أشكال التعاون الاقتصادي والسياسي والعسكري مع دولة إسرائيل القاتلة.
• فليُعترف الآن بالدولة الفلسطينية على حدود عام 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية.
