Not a step back! LARCO must stay open and all jobs must be safeguarded

The workers and trade unions of LARCO, supported byhundreds of trade unions andmass organizations andthousands of workers and youth from Attica, Boeotia, Evia etc., rejected the despicable amendment, with which the government is trying to close down the company and lay off thousands of workerswith a mass and long-lasting rallyinSyntagma square. They demanded that LARCO should remain open and that all jobs should be safeguarded.

Tirelessly, from 11 a.m. until midnight, when the government’s unacceptable amendment was passed in Parliament, thousands of demonstrators wrote another page in the historic struggle that has been going on for 4 years, and denounced this crime.

“We have shown them that we can resist. Whatever they vote in parliament, we will overturn it”, said Panagiotis Politis, president of the LARCO Workers’ Union in Larymna, speaking at the end of the hour-long demonstration. “We are preparing for a conflict”, he said, reiterating that the workers will not leave their jobs and homes.

The GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, who spokeon the issuein Parliament, stated, among other things:

“The workers know that they are not alone, they are waging their struggle together with thousands of other workers, trade unions and mass organizations of the popular movement that have been by their side for years, in the factory and other workplaces, in the mines operating in five counties.

Your aim is to close down LARCO, sack the workers, evict them from their homes and to hand it over ‘clean’, as you call it, to the new investor.

You will fail, you will not get away with it. Because now you are not facing the convenient opposition of SYRIZA, PASOK or Greek Solution, but determined workers, a wider local society, other trade unions and the KKE. The workers are 100% right in their struggle and the KKE's promise is clear: it will stand by their side till the end.”

Ни шагу назад! Оставить предприятие открытым, гарантировать  все рабочие места

20 июня работники ЛАРКО и профсоюзы этого предприятия вместе с сотнями профсоюзов, организаций, трудящимися и молодежью из Аттики, Беотии, Эвбеи провели масштабный и продолжительный митинг на площади Синтагма, выступив против принятия неприемлемых поправок в закон, с помощью которых правительство пытается закрыть предприятие и оставить безработными тысячи рабочих. Они потребовали оставить предприятие ЛАРКО открытым и гарантировать все рабочие места.

С 11 утра и до полуночи тысячи протестующих писали очередную страницу продолжающейся вот уже 4 года исторической борьбы и клеймили это преступление, в то время как в парламенте были приняты антирабочие поправки, внесенные правительством.

«Мы показали им нашу стойкость. За что бы они там ни проголосовали, мы сделаем так, чтобы эти поправки остались  на бумаге», - подчеркнул Панайотис Политис, председатель профсоюза трудящихся ЛАРКО в Ларимне, выступая по окончании многочасового митинга. "Мы готовимся к схватке", - заявил он, повторив, что трудящиеся не оставят свои рабочие места и свои дома.

Выступая в парламенте по этому поводу, Генсек ЦК КПГ Димитрис Куцумбас, среди прочего подчеркнул:

«Рабочие предприятия знают, что они не одни, вместе с ними борются тысячи других трудящихся, профсоюзы и организации народного движения, которые поддерживали их в течение многих лет,  подбадривали каждый день на заводах и других рабочих местах, в шахтах, которые существуют в пяти районах.

Ваша цель — закрыть ЛАРКО, уволить рабочих, выселить их из домов и передать предприятие «чистым», как вы говорите, новому инвестору.

Так просто вам это не пройдет, потому что теперь перед вами не удобная оппозиция - СИРИЗА, ПАСОК или «Эллиники лиси», а решительные рабочие, широкое местное сообщество, профсоюзы других отраслей и КПГ. Трудящиеся на 100% правы в своей борьбе, и КПГ обещает, что она будет стоять на их стороне до конца».

Ni un paso atrás! Exigimos que LARCO permanezca abierta y que se aseguren todos los puestos de trabajo

Con una multitudinaria y prolongada movilización en Sintagma, los trabajadores y los sindicatos de LARCO, con cientos de sindicatos, organizaciones de masas, miles de trabajadores y jóvenes de la región de Ática, Beocia, Eubea etc. a su lado, rechazaron la despreciable enmienda con la que el gobierno intenta cerrar la empresa y llevar a miles de trabajadores al paro. Exigieron que LARCO permanezca abierta y que se aseguren todos los puestos de trabajo.

Incansablemente, desde las 11 de la mañana hasta la medianoche, cuando se aprobó en el Parlamento la despreciableenmienda del gobierno, miles de manifestantes escribieron una página más en la lucha histórica que se libra desde hace 4 años, y rechazaron el crimen.

“Les hemos demostrado que persistimos. Voten lo que voten, lo convertiremos en papel mojado” destacó Panagiotis Politis, presidente del Sindicato de los Trabajadores de LARCO en Lárimna, hablando al final de la prolongada manifestación. “Nos estamos preparando para un conflicto” dijo reiterando que los trabajadores no abandonarán ni sus puestos de trabajo ni sus casas.

El Secretario General del CC del KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, en su discurso en el Parlamento respecto este tema, destacó entre otras cosas que:

“Los trabajadores saben que no están solos; están librando esta lucha con miles de trabajadores, sindicatos y organizaciones de masas a su lado que los apoyan desde hace años, cada día en la fábrica y los demás centros de trabajo, en las minas en cinco municipios.

Vuestro objetivo es cerrar LARCO, despedir a los trabajadores, echarles de sus viviendas y entregar la empresa “limpia”, como decís, al nuevo inversor.

No pasará, no se saldrán con la suya tan fácilmente porque ahora no tienen en frente a la oposición conveniente de SYRIZA, PASOK o de la Solución Griega, sino a trabajadores decididos, la sociedad local de la región, otros sindicatos y el KKE. Los trabajadores están llevando a cabo una lucha 100% justa y la promesa del KKE es clara: estará a su lado hasta el final.”
