CPI Condemns the Decision of Central Government on Jammu & Kashmir

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on August 05, 2019:

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India strongly condemns the anti-democratic move of the RSS controlled BJP government to change the status quo of Jammu and Kashmir without taking people into confidence. To dismantle the state of Jammu and Kashmir into different Union Territories without proper discussion in Parliament when the parliament is in session is undermining the parliamentary practices, procedures and the precedence.

These are regressive moves which are unconstitutional leading to destroying the federal principles of the country.

We call upon all the units of CPI to organise protest along with all Left and democratic forces to disapprove these anti-democratic moves by the government.

The Communist Party of India is of the opinion that this is a deliberate move by the government to divert attention of people from the serious down turn in economy and needs to be opposed by all. Escalation of tension in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and instability is against National interest.
