The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued on November 8, 2018 the following statement to the Media:
The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India condemns the brutal killing of local party leader and Sukma district Janpad member Com Durva Kalumu on November 7 by the goons of the rival candidates while he was returning at around 4 p.m. after campaigning for Manish Kunjam who is contesting from Konta assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh.
The party urges the state government to arrest the culprits immediately and hold an impartial inquiry into the killing.
The Party also draws the attention of the Election Commission towards the ghastly killing of a local CPI leader as part of the violence let loose by rival parties and demands stern steps to curb such poll-related violence.
Party pays homage to Com. Durva Kalumu who died while campaigning for the party and also sends its condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
