Communist Party of India general secretary D. Raja paid rich tributes to former general secretary Indrajit Gupta, martyr Govind Pansare and veteran trade union leader Parvathy Krishnan marking their death anniversary. National Council secretary Atul Kumar Anjaan and Dr. B.K. Kango along with party functionaries in the national headquarters Ajoy Bhavan, participated in the programme on February 20, 2021.
February 20 marks the 20th anniversary of the demise of Com. Indrajit Gupta, also former general secretary of AITUC and former Union Home Minister. Com. Govind Pansare became a martyr in the hands of rightist forces who shot him. Today is the sixth anniversary of his martyrdom. Also, today is the seventh death anniversary of Com. Parvarthy Krishnan, former member of Lok Sabha and renowned trade union leader.
Floral tributes were offered to Com. Ajoy Ghosh, former general secretary.
Raja said that the best way to remember them is to devote ourselves in the fight against communal fascists forces which are out to destroy the nation, democracy and the Constitution.
A two-minute silence was observed in honour of the party veterans.
