The status quo’s conspiracy against popular sovereignty is consummated: It is time to unite and fight to reestablish the national Constitution!

Communique.- The inauguration of Nicolás Maduro this January 10 is the culminating point of a conspiracy of the Public Powers ─controlled by the leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV)─ to violate the National Constitution, preventing the publication of the electoral results and thus disregarding the popular will.

Far from being resolved, the crisis of legitimacy is worsening with this swearing-in that is outside the Constitution and the laws. The National Electoral Council (CNE) has not complied with its obligations: the electoral receipts have not been presented; the results, disaggregated table by table, are not public knowledge and the audits required by law were not carried out. For its part, the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) refused to restore the guarantees of the electorate and validated the farce orchestrated by the PSUV to entrench itself in power.

To sustain its rule, the ruling elite has resorted to repression against workers, reaidents of popular sectors, human rights defenders, activists and political leaders. With harassment, arbitrary detentions, forced disappearances, threats to family members and psychological operations, they have created a permanent state of terror to impose their false authoritarian peace.

Nicolás Maduro and his accomplices have de facto abrogated the Constitution. Political and civil rights have been restricted; his neoliberal package has condemned millions of families to misery and has provoked the massive exodus of Venezuelans. The criminal sanctions of imperialism ─ which we strongly condemn─ have been used as an excuse for administrative corruption, the plundering of the nation’s resources and political persecution against all those forces that confront their anti-worker and anti-popular policies.

This coup against the will of the people opens the way to a new stage of the struggle, which demands greater democratic and popular resistance; greater unity in action and greater mobilization. Foreign military intervention and the solutions offered by the promoters of the coercive measures against the Venezuelan people are not an option either.

The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), in the search for a solution that serves the interests of the Venezuelan people and nation, in the face of this acute social and political crisis in which the country has been plunged by the two right-wing bourgeois blocs that are disputing power ─both the one in control of the State and the one that opposes it─, calls upon the revolutionary, popular and genuinely democratic forces to form a broad alliance for the struggle for the restitution of the full validity of the National Constitution and the reestablishment of the social, labor, political and human rights of the Venezuelan people.

The Venezuelan people can count on the firmness of this detachment of communist militants to overcome this hard time and recover the democratic rights that have been taken away.

Se consuma la conspiración del poder contra la soberanía popular: ¡Es hora de unirnos y luchar para restablecer la Constitución Nacional!

Comunicado.- La toma de posesión de Nicolás Maduro este 10 de enero es el punto culminante de una conspiración de los Poderes Públicos ─controlados por la cúpula del Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV)─ para violentar la Constitución Nacional, impidiendo que se publiquen los resultados electorales y así desconocer la voluntad popular.

Lejos de resolverse, la crisis de legitimidad se agudiza con esta juramentación que está al margen de la Constitución y las leyes. El Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) no ha cumplido con sus obligaciones: las actas no han sido presentadas; los resultados, desagregados mesa por mesa de votación, no son de conocimiento público y las auditorías de ley no fueron realizadas. Por su parte, el Tribunal Supremo de Justicia (TSJ), se negó restituir las garantías del electorado y convalidó la farsa orquestada por el PSUV para atrincherarse en el poder.

Para sostener su dominio, la élite gobernante ha apelado a la represión contra trabajadores, habitantes de sectores populares, defensores de derechos humanos, activistas y dirigentes políticos. Con hostigamientos, detenciones arbitrarias, desapariciones forzadas, amenazas a familiares y operaciones psicológicas han configurado un estado de terror permanente para imponer su falsa paz autoritaria.

Nicolás Maduro y sus cómplices han derogado de facto la Constitución. Los derechos políticos y civiles han sido restringidos; su paquetazo neoliberal ha condenado a millones de familias a la miseria y ha provocado el éxodo masivo de venezolanos. Las criminales sanciones del imperialismo ─ las cuales condenamos firmemente─ han sido usadas como excusa para la corrupción administrativa, el saqueo de los recursos de la Nación y la persecución política contra todas aquellas fuerzas que hacemos frente a su política antiobrera y antipopular.

Este golpe contra la voluntad del pueblo abre paso a una nueva etapa de la lucha, que demanda mayor resistencia democrática y popular; mayor unidad en la acción y mayor movilización. La intervención militar extranjera y las salidas ofrecidas por los promotores de las medidas coercitivas contra el pueblo venezolano tampoco son una opción.

El Partido Comunista de Venezuela (PCV), en la búsqueda de una salida que sirva a los intereses del pueblo y la nación venezolana, frente a esta aguda crisis social y política en la que han hundido al país los dos bloques burgueses de derecha que se disputan el poder ─tanto el que ejerce el control del Estado como el que le hace oposición─, hace un llamado a las fuerzas revolucionarias, populares y genuinamente democráticas a conformar una amplia alianza para la lucha por la restitución de la plena vigencia de la Constitución Nacional y el restablecimiento de los derechos sociales, laborales, políticos y humanos del pueblo venezolano.

Cuente el pueblo venezolano con la firmeza de este destacamento de militantes comunistas, para superar este duro trance y recuperar los derechos democráticos que han sido arrebatados.
