In Solidarity with the Iranian people against imperialist aggression

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia strongly condemns the aggression of the Zionist regime of Israel against the sovereign territory of Iran

This act constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, an assault on the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Iran, and contributes to the dangerous escalation of conflict in the region.

In the early days of the Israeli attacks on Iran, civilians made up as much as 90% of the casualties. The bombing of the state television station particularly shocked the international public, and attacks on nuclear facilities have further worsened the ecological situation, causing contamination with long-term consequences.

The Zionist regime, acting as an extension of American and Western imperialism, seeks to provoke chaos and bloodshed in the Middle East in order to control markets and natural resources. There is a serious danger that the United States will become directly involved in the war, which could open the door to a broader regional conflict with catastrophic consequences — even greater than those that have devastated Gaza, Syria, Yemen, and Lebanon. The United States, which maintains numerous military bases in the region and is the main sponsor of Israeli military power, bears the greatest responsibility for these developments.

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia opposes not only military aggression but also illegal, unilateral sanctions against Iran, which affect ordinary people, not elites. It is ironic that the attack occurs at the very moment when indirect negotiations were being held between Iran and the U.S. regarding the renewal of the nuclear agreement, from which the U.S. unilaterally withdrew in 2018.

We strongly condemn the attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities. As a signatory of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran has the right to develop nuclear energy for peaceful, civilian purposes. It is hypocritical that this right is denied by Israel and the United States — countries that possess nuclear, chemical, and other prohibited weapons, including cluster bombs and warheads with depleted uranium.

This aggression is part of a broader strategy by the West and its regional allies — primarily Israel and the Gulf monarchies — to impose full control over the Middle East. The conflicts in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen over the past decades have been part of preparations for a broader regional war. Today, Gaza remains under constant bombardment and blockade, with over two million people in desperate humanitarian conditions. In Syria, extremist groups like Al-Qaeda, brought to power with Western support, continue to commit crimes with impunity.

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia strongly condemns Israeli attacks on civilians, hospitals, schools, and other civilian infrastructure. Since October 2023, more than 18,000 children and youth have been killed — a massive crime against humanity. Israel, with the backing of the U.S., NATO, the EU, and reactionary Arab regimes, continues its relentless aggression against the peoples of the Middle East, in blatant violation of international law and basic human rights.

Israeli occupation, as a tool of imperialist policy in the Middle East, further deteriorates living conditions in the region: access to water, food, medicine, humanitarian aid, and electricity is denied — directly affecting millions of people, especially civilians, who are living in poverty and starvation.

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia expresses its solidarity with the peoples of Iran, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen in their struggle against imperialism and for national liberation. We support all peoples who resist occupation, exploitation, and repression.

We demand:
* Immediate halt to Israeli aggression and a ceasefire;
* Opening of humanitarian corridors and delivery of aid to civilians;
* End of Israeli occupation of Palestinian, Lebanese, and Syrian territories;
* Recognition of the Palestinian people’s right to statehood, freedom, and a dignified life;
* Lifting of all illegal sanctions against Iran;
* Return to all international agreements that guarantee peace and stability.

Stop the Zionist aggression against Iran!
End the genocide against the Palestinian people!
Stop the imperialist war in the Middle East!
