Success in local elections

The Party of Labour of Austria (Partei der Arbeit Österreichs, PdA) scored a remarkable success in the municipal elections in the Federal Province of Lower Austria on 26 January 2020: six years after its foundation, the PdA succeeded in entering a general political representative body for the first time. In the municipality of Neusiedl an der Zaya (district of Gänserndorf), the Party of Labour gained 5.4% of the votes and one of 19 seats in the municipal council. The 30-year-old worker Armin Kollarik, also a member of the party'scentral committee, will now hold the mandate for five years. "This seemingly small success is in reality a big step for the party", said Tibor Zenker, chairman of the PdA. "We are now on the political map and we will use this tribune to strengthen the interests of the working class, to enlighten, mobilise and organise them in order to push forward the resistance against capitalism and imperialism."

Januar 2020 konnte die Partei der Arbeit Österreichs (PdA) einen bemerkenswerten Erfolg verbuchen: Sechs Jahre nach ihrer Gründung gelang der PdA erstmals der Einzug in einen allgemeinen politischen Vertretungskörper. In der Gemeinde Neusiedl an der Zaya (Bezirk Gänserndorf) gewann die Partei der Arbeit 5,4% der Stimmen und einen von 19 Sitzen im Gemeinderat. Der 30jährige Arbeiter Armin Kollarik, auch Mitglied des Parteivorstandes der PdA, wird nun für fünf Jahre das Mandat ausüben.„Dieser scheinbar kleine Erfolg ist in Wirklichkeit ein großer Schritt für die Partei“, erklärte Tibor Zenker, Vorsitzender der PdA. „Wir sind jetzt auf der politischen Landkarte und wir werden diese Tribüne dafür nützen, die Interessen der Arbeiterklasse zu stärken, sie aufzuklären, zu mobilisieren und zu organisieren, um den Widerstand gegen Kapitalismus und Imperialismus voranzutreiben.“
