SACP congratulates newly inaugurated Venezuelan President Maduro, affirms solidarity with people of Venezuela
Friday, 10 January 2025:- The South African Communist Party (SACP) congratulates newly inaugurated Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and affirms its solidarity with the people of Venezuela in their continued fight against imperialist aggression.
"We just witnessed the official inauguration of President Nicolus Maduro Moros as the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the 2025 – 2031 term of office. All is well and US propaganda is failing", said the SACP General Secretary, Solly Mapaila, from Venezuela.
President Maduro was democratically elected notwithstanding illegal US-led sanctions and unbridled propaganda. In its continued efforts to destabilise Venezuela and impose its wishes, the imperialist US regime announced a $25m reward for information leading to the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro, in naked violation of international law.
The SACP reiterates its unequivocal opposition to unilateral and punitive sanctions imposed by the US and its Western allies against Venezuela and all sovereign nations. To that end, the SACP will work to be part of international campaigns for the immediate lifting of sanctions imposed on Venezuela by the US and its capitalist allies, which hinder the country’s development and harm its people.
