The statement of the Tudeh Party of Iran:

We Condemn military campaign of the Israeli government against the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon!

In recent days, the world has once again witnessed the crimes of the fascistic and racist Israeli government against the peoples of Gaza and Lebanon.  According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Israeli regime military forces launched a large-scale attack on the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Tuesday 18 March in which more than 400 Palestinians, including at least 174 children, were killed.

This prompted António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, to state that Palestinians in Gaza are enduring an "unimaginable level of suffering."  And Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), warned that the resumption of war has turned Gaza into "hell on earth" for its residents.

The continued criminal bombardment of Gaza and, in recent days, the resumed bombardment of Lebanon, indicates a new aggressive policy of the Israeli government, seemingly emboldened by the clear support it is receiving from the quasi-fascist Trump administration in Washington, to destroy once and for all the Palestinian people, along with their legitimate aspirations and hopes, as well as realise the Trump administration's plan for the permanent occupation of these territories and the displacement of millions of their indigenous and rightful inhabitants.

The Tudeh Party of Iran once again strongly condemns the crimes of the apartheid Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, who should be brought to trial as a war criminal, and calls upon all progressive and freedom-loving forces in the Middle East region and around the world to join forces in defending the rights of the Palestinian people to achieve an independent and sovereign state based on the relevant United Nations resolutions; to push to bring about an end to the invasion and occupation of the sovereign territories of Lebanon and Syria by Israel; and to urgently appeal to world public opinion to protest and resist to these righteous ends.
