The participants at the 14^th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties taking place on November 23^rd – 25^th in Beirut, Lebanon express their unwavering solidarity with the working people of Iran in their multi-faceted and complicated struggle for peace, sovereignty, democracy and social justice.

Amid the great crises in the global capitalist states, and the escalated risk of wars as means of crisis resolution, we are gravely concerned about the maneuvers of the NATO powers to instigate military interventions around the world. Following their intervention in Libya and Syria, their plans of regime change across the entire Middle East and violation of sovereignty of countries in the region is of serious concern.The risks and dangers of sanctions and interventions, militaristically or otherwise, heightened imperialist attempts for political and economical hegemony over this strategic region, promotion of Islamic fundamentalism, terrorism, threats to the sovereignty of nations, and the erosion of the human and democratic rights of the people are all present more than ever.

The recent escalation of tensions in relation with Iran following Israel’s threats, including Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly, and Iran’s reckless gestures, the negative reports of International Atomic Energy Agency on Iran’s nuclear program, the new series of extended punitive economic and financial sanctions imposed by the US and EU,and ceasing of diplomatic relations by Canada and the UK with Iran raise serious concerns about the future developments in relation with Iran.

Therefore, we, the undersigned communist and workers’ parties, once again reiterate our opposition to and condemnation of all foreign interventions and sanctions against Iran from which, first and foremost, the working people have been suffering and will suffer.We believe that it is the sole right of the Iranian people themselves to freely determine the direction of future developments in their country for peace, democracy, social justice and decent life. Tensions over Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions, and threats of external imperialist intervention reinforce the position of the reactionary forces in Iran’s ruling class against the national interests and basic rights of the people of Iran.

Once again we express our solidarity with and support for the struggle of the working people and working class of Iran, and its political party Tudeh Party of Iran for peace and democracy and social justice.n

Declaração sobre as ameaças contra o povo do Irã

Os participantes do 14 ºEncontro Internacional de Partidos Comunistas e Operários, ocorrido em 23-25 de novembro em Beirute, Líbano, expressam sua firme solidariedade para com as pessoas que militam no Irã em sua multifacetada e complicada luta por paz, soberania, democracia e justiça social.

Em meio às grandes crises nos estados capitalistas globais e àescalada do risco de guerras como meio de resolução de crises, estamos seriamente preocupados com as manobras das potências da OTAN para instigar intervenções militares ao redor do mundo. Após a sua intervenção na Líbia e na Síria, os seus planos de mudança de regime em todo o Oriente Médio e de violação da soberania dos países da região é de grande preocupação. Os riscos e os perigos de sanções e intervenções, militares ou não, acrescidos das tentativas imperialistas para a hegemonia política e econômica sobre esta região estratégica, com a promoção do fundamentalismo islâmico, do terrorismo, com as ameaças à soberania das nações e a erosão dos direitos humanos e democráticos das pessoas estão mais presentes do que nunca.

A recente escalada de tensões em relação ao Irã, após ameaças de Israel, incluindo a fala de Netanyahu na Assembléia Geral da ONU, bem como os gestos temerários do Irã, os relatórios negativos da Agência Internacional de Energia Atômica sobre o programa nuclear iraniano, a nova série de extensas sanções econômicas e financeiras impostas pelos EUA e UE, e a quebra das relações diplomáticas do Canadá e do Reino Unido com o Irã, levantam sérias preocupações sobre os desdobramentos futuros com relação ao Irã.

Portanto, nós, partidos comunistas e operários abaixo-assinados, mais uma vez reiteramos nossa oposição e condenação a todas as intervenções e sanções estrangeiras contra o Irã, o que provocará e já provoca sofrimento principalmente aos trabalhadores. Acreditamos que é um direito único do povo iraniano a capacidade de auto-determinar livremente a direção dos futuros acontecimentos no seu país, pela paz, democracia, justiça social e vida decente. As tensões envolvendo o programa nuclear do Irã e as ameaças de intervenção imperialista externa reforçam a posição das forças reacionárias da classe dominante do Irã contra os interesses nacionais e os direitos básicos do povo iraniano.

Mais uma vez expressamos nossa solidariedade e suporte àluta do povo trabalhador e da classe trabalhadora do Irãe seu partido político Tudeh do Irã, pela paz, pela democracia e pela justiça social.
